Our client, an electric vehicle manufacturer, is actively looking for a Test Engineer to join their team in Irvine, CA! This role is onsite so local candidates are required.
What You Will Be Doing
- This is a 6 month contract with the opportunity to extend or convert based on performance and business needs***
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare and condition test specimens according to specifications
- Perform adhesion testing using standard methods (e.g., lap shear, peel, tensile)
- Operate and maintain testing equipment such as universal testing machines, environmental chambers, and measurement tools
- Record and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and repeatability
- Utilize data analysis tools such as statistics, curve fitting, or other techniques to better understand results
- Document procedures, observations, and results in detailed technical reports
- Collaborate with internal engineers to refine test methods and interpret results
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Bachelor's in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc.
- Experience in materials testing, preferably with polymers, coatings, or adhesives
- Familiarity with adhesion test methods (e.g., ASTM, ISO standards)
- Proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing
- Hands-on experience with mechanical testing equipment such as Instron's
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Background in materials science or similar
