Our client, a leading U.S.-based financial services institution, is seeking a skilled Storage & Backup Engineer to support critical infrastructure initiatives within their Platform Engineering environment. This role focuses on storage, backup, and data center technologies, with direct involvement in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-impact initiatives and provide advanced systems consultation to technology teams
• Participate in large-scale planning and design of computer systems and network infrastructure
• Review and analyze complex technical challenges and escalated support issues related to core business systems
• Evaluate alternatives, recommend enhancements, and drive improvements to existing infrastructure
• Make informed decisions on technical changes and system enhancements
• Collaborate with engineering teams on change design, ensuring adherence to technical standards and controls
• Partner with senior engineers and stakeholders to resolve system issues and achieve project goals
• Support data center migration efforts and modernization initiatives
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Storage & Backup technologies
• Develop documentation, improve existing services, and build automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency
• Provide ongoing operational support in an Agile/Scrum environment

Technology Environment

• Platform Engineering (Critical Infrastructure, Cloud, Database)
• Storage & Backup: Pure Storage, Dell PowerMax, Cohesity, Data Domain, Avamar

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Technology Architecture
• Hands-on experience with:
• Pure Storage
• Dell Storage (PowerMax)
• Cohesity
• Data Domain
• Avamar
• PowerShell
• Experience with infrastructure design and daily operational support
• Strong understanding of enterprise storage and backup solutions
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
