We are seeking a VMware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Systems Engineer to support a federal program. The engineer will design, implement, manage, and secure virtualized environments and Linux servers in alignment with government cybersecurity standards.

What You Will Be Doing
- Install, configure, and administer VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter environments.
- Deploy, patch, and maintain RHEL servers across classified and unclassified systems.
- Perform system hardening and compliance validation using DISA STIGs and NIST 800-53.
- Diagnose performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and apply corrective measures.
- Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Automate system tasks through Ansible, Bash, or Python.
- Apply security patches and updates per DoD Information Assurance (IA) requirements.
- Develop system documentation, SOPs, and change management artifacts.
- Deliver Tier II/III support and provide guidance to junior administrators.
- Active Secret (or higher) security clearance.
- 5 years of VMware vSphere administration.
- 3 years of RHEL system administration.
- Familiarity with DoD STIGs, RMF, and DISA SRGs.
- Experience with virtualization networking, storage, and performance tuning.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE.
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other container platforms.
- Knowledge of automation frameworks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with DoD cloud services (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government).
