What are the responsibilities and job description for the Avionics Engineer position at Motion Recruitment?
Our client, a leader in aerospace & defense is looking to hire an Avionics Engineer to join their team. This will be fully onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.
*This job is a 6-month W2 contract role with benefits!*
As an Avionics Engineer, you will support external customer stakeholders and internal software & hardware engineering teams with the design, validation, and verification testing for cockpit avionics in the Special Operations Aviation military programs.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform designs, requirements, validation, & verification for cockpit avionics for various special operations programs
- Perform requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment
- Support cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teams
- Perform investigations of the client lab hardware and environment, including integration investigations of different client interfaces
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- 1 years of relevant experience in Systems, Hardware, Firmware or Avionics Engineering
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience using TNT, DOORS, PREP, Jira and/or Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of data busses and protocols including Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429
- Prior experience in Military Avionics strongly preferred!
