Senior or Staff Frontend Engineer / React / Remote

A cutting-edge AI startup is reimagining how teams communicate using real-time AI companions, and we're looking for a Senior or Staff Frontend Engineer (React) to lead development of our user-facing applications. This is a full-time, fully remote role focused on building intuitive, high-performance interfaces that showcase the power of modern AI in the workplace.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years building frontend applications in React typescript
• Deep understanding of modern frontend architecture, state management, and component-based design
• Experience working with real-time data (e.g., WebSockets, live feeds, collaborative UIs)
• Strong eye for design detail and UX, with the ability to translate Figma or design specs into production code
• Proficient with TypeScript, modern JS tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.), and REST/GraphQL API integration

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience working on AI-powered products or interfaces that integrate ML outputs (e.g., assistants, chat UIs)
• Familiarity with real-time messaging platforms, collaborative tools, or rich text editors
• Exposure to data visualization libraries (e.g., D3, Recharts, Visx) and performance optimization techniques
• Understanding of accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design principles
• Comfortable collaborating across backend, ML, and product teams in a fast-moving startup environment

Tech Breakdown

• 80% React (TypeScript, Hooks, Next.js or similar)
• 20% Real-time data integration, UX/Design collaboration, and performance tuning

Daily Responsibilities

• 80% Hands-On Engineering (UI development, performance, code reviews)
• 10% UI/UX Planning & Architecture
• 10% Cross-functional Collaboration (with Design, Product, Backend, ML)
