IT Project Manager
Pay Rate: $65–$92 per hour
Contract Duration: 12 months
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Role Overview
The ISO Technology Project Manager II leads Agile software development initiatives independently or supports larger programs under the guidance of a Portfolio Manager. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technology initiatives that align with defined business objectives, ensuring projects are completed within agreed cost, timeline, and quality parameters. The position partners closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of value.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Serve as the project lead for standing Agile teams across the Technology organization, coordinating work across development and shared service teams
- Manage planning, estimation, and delivery of software and technology projects in alignment with ISO Technology PMO standards and best practices
- Drive initiative planning and estimation for projects of varying complexity; track milestones and deliverables and communicate project status effectively to business and technology stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to establish clear scope and shared understanding from project and release planning through backlog refinement and work item execution
- Ensure a healthy, prioritized, and continuously refined product backlog in partnership with business stakeholders
- Lead software release planning and execution, including coordination of UAT and production deployments
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; proactively resolve issues and escalate as necessary to ensure delivery
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, tools, and reporting requirements, including KPIs, metrics, project status reporting, operational processes, time tracking, and team-level budgeting
- When supporting broader programs, collaborate with project and portfolio management peers to coordinate timelines, risks, and dependencies across technical and non-technical workstreams
Agile & Scrum Leadership
- Foster an environment that promotes team growth, continuous improvement, and high performance
- Coach teams on Agile values and principles, encouraging collaboration, transparency, self-organization, and accountability
- Serve as Scrum Master, ensuring effective use of Agile ceremonies, roles, and artifacts
- Remove impediments and shield teams from disruptions to maintain delivery momentum
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Proven ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and lead resolution efforts
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, resolve conflicts, and align stakeholders
- Familiarity with software development technologies and delivery practices
- Strong negotiation and time management skills related to scope, timelines, and deliverables
Certifications
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification required or strongly preferred
- Scrum Master or SAFe certification preferred
Experience Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in the software development industry
- 4–6 years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master supporting software development teams
- Demonstrated experience working as a contributing member of Agile project teams
- Proven ability to identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities
- Strong understanding of project management principles and Agile delivery frameworks
