Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans for patients across inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, home health, and pediatric settings.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other physiotherapy techniques to promote healing and mobility.
- Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately following clinical documentation standards and medical terminology guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate clearly with clients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, progress updates, and home exercise programs.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) management with meticulous attention to detail for all medical documentation and therapy notes.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and related medical terminology to inform effective treatment strategies.
- Proficiency in physical therapy treatment implementation including manual therapy techniques.
- Experience with documentation, medical documentation standards, and discharge planning processes.
- Ability to operate medical equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols in various clinical environments such as inpatient units.
- Excellent caregiver communication skills to foster trust and understanding with patients of all ages.
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) management systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Spanish is a plus.
