Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Reports to: VP Operations
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day operational activities while ensuring all customer demands and production schedules are met.
The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring team members in the plant are sufficiently trained in the processes they are working on, and keeping a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This includes working with operations managers on maintaining a schedule that will meet customer due dates, showing team members how to use job-specific tooling, and supporting them as needed.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties
· Ensure safety policies and quality policies are followed by team members.
· Work with team members to ensure they understand and can proficiently use job-specific tools, process documentation, and work instructions.
· Assist team members with production, PLEX ERP system and personnel issues to optimize overall success.
· Ensure that team members are completing required training and Quality Alert reviews in a timely manner.
· Use basic problem-solving skills to help solve team member struggles and ensure productive operations.
· Manage shift personnel so that they maintain focus and stay on tasks in their respective departments.
· Manage weekly OT sheet including off shift sign-ups, preventive maintenance activities, and
· Teach and promote positive work behavior and ethics in manufacturing employees.
· Work with Operations Managers and other key department personnel to manage and prioritize staffing assignments.
· Complete shift specific responsibilities as defined by Operation Managers and other Management.
· Meet with Operations Managers and key department personnel on a regular basis to maintain communication and ensure consistent workflow across all shifts.
· Identify and support implementation of continuous improvement activities.
· Communicate problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Operations Managers, key department personnel, and appropriate support personnel.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Supervisory/lead person role experience
· High School Diploma at minimum
· Legal Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
· Basic computer knowledge
· Basic blueprint reading
· Understanding of quality concepts and calculations
· General math skills
· Detail oriented
· Pride in work
· Desire and willingness to learn.
· Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
· Proven work history
· Excellent attendance record
