Job Summary:
Direct and manage New Business Program Coordination, manage new program launches. On self-managed programs, focus on the timely achievement of deliverables, identification and communication of program risks, customer and management communication of program status, capital budget attainment and customer satisfaction. Department management responsibilities include department planning, establishing policies and procedures, program management guidelines, personnel development and organizational development.
Job Requirements:
· EDUCATION:
A Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering or demonstrated equivalent work experience
· SKILLS:
o Leading and directing programs to fulfill strategic objectives through utilization of the tools and techniques developed in our project management department. This position requires knowledge of MSSL’s wiring harness design and manufacturing process, communications and technical writing skills, detail-oriented planning and tracking, project management software applications and philosophy. Reasonable understanding of QS-9000 and APQP is recommended.
o Leadership, aggressiveness, confidence, persuasiveness, ambitious, time management, meeting management and willingness to make decisions, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership, planning, coordination, analyzing and understanding the organization
- Direct and manage overall business programs
- Travel by automobile or airplane for project reviews with customer and plants
- Help in the selection, training and development of new Program Coordinators
- Use APQP process and support SPS
- Use Lean Six Sigma tools and process
- Develop PERT and GANTT charts with associated groups and schedule reviews
- Track PARs and capital spending to meet new business start-ups or transfers
- Formal Gate Reviews, communicate project status verbally and in writing
- Provide education and enhance technical and managerial skills for Project and Program Managers
- Establish priorities among projects and programs
- Scope development and senior sponsorship
- Manage organizational constraints
- Direct and develop Project and Program Coordinators in team atmosphere
- Owner for Corporate Program Management Procedures and Policies
- Coordinate Program Summary timeline updates with all Plant/Strategic Customer program managers
- Coordinate and update Capital Spending budgets and PAR status
- Monthly program status updates for staff meetings
- QS9000 to TS process mapping and flow development for upcoming audit
