Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support all aspects of production, including process documentation, risk analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Industrial Engineer works cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches and the ongoing stability of series production processes. This position does not include product design responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Support new program launches by developing and validating manufacturing processes aligned with customer and internal requirements
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, IATF 16949 standards, and internal procedure
- Prepare machine capacity calculations
- Optimize Value Stream Designs and find areas of improvement with process and material flows
- Perform and document cycle time studies of production processes
- Create poka-yoke plans
- Identify root causes and implement solutions
- Identify areas of improvement for processes and plan/implement solutions
- Lead and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) for new and existing processes
- Establish and monitor process control plans to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with standards
- Define, document, and control critical process parameters to ensure process stability and repeatability
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams during launch activities and ramp-up phases
- Develop and update standardized work instructions and process documentation
- Identify process risks and implement corrective and preventive actions during launch and production
- Participate in trial runs, line validations, and production readiness reviews
- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles
- Assist in troubleshooting process issues and driving root cause analysis
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing (launch experience preferred)
- Experience with PFMEA development and maintenance
- Strong understanding of process controlling and development
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
- Familiarity with industrial production processes, control plans, work instructions, and standardized processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Experience supporting new product launches in an automotive environment
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 and core tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC)
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.)
- Familiarity with production systems such as injection molding, assembly, or automation
Work Environment
- Automotive manufacturing plant environment
- Frequent presence on the production floor
- Ability to support multiple shifts during launch activities as needed
