Precitech designs and manufactures ultra-precision machining solutions for freeform diamond turning, milling, and grinding. These machines produce optical lenses, mold inserts, mirrors, and precision mechanical components with sub-micron form tolerances and nanometer surface finishes.
Position Overview
The Technical Writer supports the engineering team in creating, revising, and organizing technical documentation. This temporary role ensures engineering outputs are clearly communicated, well-documented, and easily accessible to internal and external stakeholders. The position involves close collaboration with engineers, product managers, and service teams to produce high-quality documentation supporting product development, manufacturing, and customer use.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and edit technical documents, including manuals, specifications, procedures, and reports.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to gather source material and clarify technical details.
- Maintain document templates and manage version control.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Develop visual aids such as diagrams, charts, and schematics.
- Ensure documentation meets internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in product design reviews and documentation planning.
- Manage documentation timelines to align with project milestones.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or related field, or 5 years of experience in a technical writing or similar technical role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation tools (Adobe Acrobat, Visio).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with engineering teams and interpreting technical drawings.
- Familiarity with CAD software and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Knowledge of CE standards and regulatory documentation practices.
- Experience creating documentation for CNC machinery or precision manufacturing equipment.
