Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Relief Worker to join our team. At the Mother Teresa Maternity Home, we are a non-denominational residential home, providing a program for the needs of pregnant women 18 and over who are homeless or escaping a dangerous or abusive situation. The program encourages and supports education, job training, parenting, financial planning and other life skills.
All MTMH relief workers are considered Occasional Part Time and may expect less than 20 hours per week as regularly scheduled.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
-Provide guidance and mentorship to residents
-Provide occasional transportation to residents for medical appointments, grocery shopping, sobriety meetings, and employment. Employee must maintain a clean and reliable vehicle for the safe transportaion of clients and infants, provide proof of insurance, proof of a clean driving record, and be able to competently drive any time of day, including nights.
-Become First Aid/CPR certified within the first 30 days of employment.
-Able to work weekends, overnights (partial sleeping shifts), and holidays as needed.
- Respect and uphold resident rights and privacy at all times.
- Communicate with social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
-Complete daily tasks as assigned by the Home Director.
-Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
Experience:
- Previous experience in nursing, caregiving, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in medication administration and management.
- Ability to drive individuals safely to various locations.
- Experience in meal preparation following dietary guidelines.
- Knowledge of resident rights and privacy regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
