Lead Retail IT Systems Administrator

Mothers Market & Kitchen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Retail Systems Administrator to support and maintain our retail technology infrastructure across 12 store locations and our corporate headquarters in Newport Beach.

This role will be responsible for managing and supporting POS systems, retail back-office operations, virtualization environments, networking infrastructure, cybersecurity initiatives, and enterprise retail technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in grocery retail environments and be comfortable leading projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting mission-critical systems in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and administer retail POS environments including:
• BR Data
• Salient
• ACE POS

Support and maintain retail back-office systems

Manage retail pricing, promotions, and POS-related operations

• Maintain and support:
• Windows Server environments
• Active Directory
• Group Policy
• User/account administration

Manage virtualization platforms including

• SCALE Computing
• VMware
• vSphere

Perform server migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure deployments

Create and maintain SQL scripts, queries, and database troubleshooting

Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tasks

Support and troubleshoot:

• Network switches
• Firewalls
• Wireless access points (APs)
• VPN connectivity

Monitor and support cybersecurity best practices and incident response efforts

Support store operations, outages, and infrastructure-related issues

Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements

Assist with disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Qualifications

• Strong experience in retail/grocery IT environments
• Hands-on experience with:
• BR Data
• ACE POS

Experience managing Active Directory environments

Experience managing virtualization environments using VMware and/or SCALE Computing

Strong understanding of:

• Windows Server administration
• Active Directory
• Group Policy

Experience with SQL scripting and database management

Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation

Knowledge of networking concepts including:

• VLANs
• Switching
• Firewalls
• Wireless networking
• Experience with cybersecurity practices and system hardening
• Strong troubleshooting and project management skills
• Ability to support multiple retail locations in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in grocery retail operations
• Experience with POS integrations and payment systems
• Experience supporting enterprise retail infrastructure
• Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives

Compensation: Around $85,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and retail systems expertise.
