Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan visually appealing produce displays and maintain their replenishment.
- Stock and rotate fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department.
- Evaluate all products for sale, removing those that show signs of spoilage.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering products before stock depletion.
- Receive produce deliveries while adhering to established procedures.
- Hire qualified applicants in collaboration with the Store Manager and Human Resources.
- Ensure all department employees receive proper training.
- Conduct performance reviews and address disciplinary actions as needed.
- Schedule hours for the produce department within operational guidelines.
- Maintain company safety and sanitation standards.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of natural foods and alternative diets.
- Coordinate returns and credit from suppliers where applicable.
Job Requirements:
- Must have experience in retail produce and possess exceptional customer service skills.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Verbal proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, squat, bend, and lift/carry boxes up to 70 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various temperatures and environments, including head, cold, and wet conditions.
