Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering an inclusive, engaging, and supportive classroom where every child's developmental needs are met with enthusiasm and expertise. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction, tailored lesson plans, and effective behavior management strategies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with families, specialists, and fellow educators to create a nurturing space that promotes early childhood development and lifelong learning.

Duties

  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including special education frameworks such as IEP (Individualized Education Program) accommodations.
  • Lead classroom activities that support literacy, math, communication skills, social-emotional development, and behavioral health for children with diverse needs.
  • Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques tailored for students with disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders.
  • Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, special education coordinators, and other professionals to support student progress through instructional modifications and behavioral interventions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, conduct assessments including standardized testing when appropriate, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student achievements, challenges, and strategies for ongoing support through parent-teacher conferences and written updates.
  • Supervise assistant teachers and volunteers, mentoring them in best practices for inclusive education, classroom management, and lesson planning.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or elementary schools, particularly those with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Demonstrated expertise in special education law, IEP development, and implementing instructional modifications for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong background in classroom management techniques suitable for young children with behavioral health challenges or neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Experience integrating educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences for students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy approaches, and literacy education strategies tailored for children on the autism spectrum or with other developmental disabilities.
  • Prior involvement in curriculum development that emphasizes inclusive practices such as Montessori or preschool methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among educators, specialists, families, and community resources dedicated to child development and childcare excellence.
