Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Food Service Manager to lead our dynamic food service team. These specific positions will be part of our Mobile Food Service Units that respond to disasters, primarily wildfires through the summer months. The company is based out of Sacramento, CA with equipment yard in Placerville, CA. Most of the work will be preformed at Base Camps throughout the Western States. Most work will be performed between June-October with training, equipment maintenance and other minimal tasks required outside of wildfire season.
Duties
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including supervising staff, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring efficient shift management
- Lead team training and development initiatives to enhance skills in food handling, customer service, and food safety protocols
- Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food production to minimize waste and maximize profitability
- Maintain compliance with health regulations by enforcing food safety standards and conducting regular kitchen inspections
- Coordinate with culinary staff on food preparation, cooking procedures, and presentation to uphold quality standards
- Assisting in Base Camp set up and tear down which can be in a wide range of weather conditions
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing food service operations in quick service or fast food restaurants; casual dining or hotel experience is a plus
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management
- Ability to travel and be away from home for 14-60 day missions with a total of approximately 50-100 days working away from home
- Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising teams, training staff, and managing hospitality teams effectively
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and compliance with health regulations
- Excellent communication skills for managerial tasks such as interviewing, staff training, and customer interactions
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for budgeting, profit & loss analysis, and inventory control
- Experience in managing catering events or banquet services is desirable; especially the ability to manage large events spanning from 200-3000 people.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
