Role Description The Catholic School Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Mechanicsville, MD. This educator will plan and deliver daily lessons that integrate rigorous academic standards with Catholic teachings and values, creating an inclusive and respectful classroom environment. Responsibilities include developing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student progress, providing timely feedback, and differentiating instruction for diverse learning needs. The teacher will communicate regularly with families and colleagues, participate in faculty meetings and professional development, and contribute to schoolwide activities, liturgies, and events. Additional duties may include supervision of students, coordinating classroom resources, and collaborating on curriculum and faith-based initiatives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Teaching, including the ability to design engaging, standards-based lessons and manage a structured, supportive classroom.
- Background in Education and Training, with experience applying instructional best practices and supporting a range of learning styles.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to supporting and modeling Catholic values in the classroom and school community, and willingness to participate in religious activities appropriate to the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; state teaching certification or eligibility preferred.
- Experience teaching in a K–8 or similar school environment is beneficial.
- Ability to use basic educational technology and learning platforms to support instruction and communication.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a collaborative mindset in working with faculty, staff, and administration.
