What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Law Attorney position at Moshier Law Firm, P.C.?
Now Hiring: Family Law Attorney
Ready to use your legal skills to actually change lives? We're on the hunt for a passionate family law pro (bonus points if you’ve got probate or DCS experience) who’s ready to make a difference and join a team that actually cares.
Oh, did we describe you? That was intentional.
Best fit for the role:
This person will require a person whose communication and advocacy are superior to many of their peers. You’ll have a genuine drive to help others navigate complex legal situations and to identify the problems and issues, so you can strategize a solution. In this role, you’ll be autonomous and collaborative. I know, but it makes sense once you work with us.
Positivity and flexibility are excellent foundations to manage a wide range of responsibilities, from being at the final step of a client intake system, case management, drafting pleadings, motions and correspondence, and representing clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. You’ll also play a critical role in shaping and guiding clients through every step of the legal process.
Who We Are:
We’re a client-focused family law firm in Phoenix. Our door does not revolve - in fact, everyone has worked together or known each other for years, some of us decades. We are passionate about providing personalized, high-quality legal services and our founder believes in service – service to the clients, of course, but even more importantly, our founder believes in serving the people who serve the clients. You, after all, are going to navigate clients out of the perilous situations they find themselves in and you need support and a kind, warm atmosphere.
Our team thrives on collaboration, attention to detail, and fostering a supportive, basically good-all-around work environment. If you enjoy working in a team-oriented setting where you get to see the start to finish of your own successful ideas become reality, we hope we are the perfect opportunity for you. Because, tbh...we needed you yesterday.
A Day In Your Life:
You may find yourself working from home occasionally, with the majority of your time being in your own office, in someone else's office collaborating, or in court, mediation or a collaborative law meeting. You’ll be in court hearings on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and adoptions (child and adult - we aren't ageist).
In addition, to family law, a candidate with experience and/or interest in expanding your skills in the areas of Department of Child Safety (“DCS”), guardianships and conservatorships and Orders of Protection/Injunction of Harassments will really command our attention. You are a person who can be on the phone for several hours a day when all of our clients are calling you at once. Like an air traffic controller who can safely land all the planes. Some days will include extensive communication with clients, counsel and courts and attending court hearings both virtually and in-person.
Required for this Trip:
- You’re admitted to practice in Arizona and in good standing
- You’ve invested in yourself and you have stuck it out one two places for the last two years to get some great experience (not limited to divorce, child custody, support/modifications)
- You're intrigued and open to litigating DCS matters, and you'll be interested in handling probate cases like guardianships/conservators, adoptions of adults (those are really rewarding) as well as Orders of Protection/Injunctions of Harassment.
- You have already and will in the future want to represent clients in court hearings, trials and depositions.
- You can conduct solid, reliable legal research and prepare for hearings, mediations and trials.
- You can draft legal documents, including pleadings, agreements and correspondence.
- You think on your feet and exhibit strong communication skills and good judgment.
- You have enough proficiency to be mildly dangerous in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite, experience with CLIO case management a plus
- You can pitch in with client intake on the rare days when the system glitches require that you step in for the “system” we have
- You are a self-motivated person, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Why Be Part of Our Team?
- Let’s start with our list of can’ts and won’ts: We don’t and will never berate, yell, threaten, or diminish anyone. The reason this group has survived working together is because we truly respect each other and we are all decent people.
- You do like a sense of humor and you enjoy a few breaks to laugh or be celebrated for your wins!
- As we build, we are together going to invest in dedicating a month of each person’s life to a vacation serve opportunity anywhere in the world.
- We know it’s different, so it bears repeating: Our culture is service. As we grow, an 11-month year for each person who serves our clients is going to be vital.
- We don’t demand your soul in billable hours. We have a healthy billable requirement to maintain firm goals for the future and for employee reinvestment.
- You’re going to have no short of opportunity to grow professionally and enjoy a great office vibe.
