Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Department of Health Food Handler's Card.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain industrial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with district staff, students, parents and the general public using tact, courtesy, and good judgment.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic math calculations; order products and supplies according to attendance and production requirements (written skills test required).
- Knowledge and understanding of all S.P.I. requirements for food services.
- Demonstrated ability to change menus based upon proportioned quantities.
- Ability to complete production records and maintain accurate meal counts.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and positive working relationships with fellow food service staff and other district personnel.
- Demonstrated punctuality and ability to maintain excellent record of attendance.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find acceptable.
- Assist with all aspects of meal preparation including food preparation, cooking, assembly, service, and clean-up of meals in accordance with MLSD Food Service policies and procedures and in compliance with regulations concerning meal pattern requirements.
- Order and receive food deliveries from base kitchen and central warehouse as needed.
- Supervise and instruct student workers assisting with the meal period.
- Follow proper sanitation, safety, and temperature control procedures in accordance with Washington State Health Department standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report all problems to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Services Director.
