Senior Systems Engineer (GMD - IFICS Data Terminal)

The Systems Engineer will support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program
Responsibilities:
- Perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, system design, system integration & test, hardware fault analysis, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), hardware interfaces (mechanical and electrical), testing, and hardware to software interface definition as part of the IDT product team
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Utilize DOORS for requirements management activities
- Support MBSE/Cameo modeling efforts
- Operate within an Agile development environment using Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience (Or Masters and 3 years or PhD and 1 years)
- Background in hardware to include experience with hardware to software interfaces, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), hardware interfaces (mechanical and electrical), testing, and hardware faults
- Experience performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems
- Prior experience using DOORS
- Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as Cameo
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
- Prior experience working with MIL-STD-810 and performing Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT)
- Prior experience working with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA)
- Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) per MIL-STD-461 and Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) per MIL-STD-464
- Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) per MIL-STD-188-125-1 and MIL-STD-188-125-2
- Prior experience working, designing, and/or developing with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) per MIL-HDBK-344
