About the role
Mosel & Ginn, PLLC is a Plano, TX CPA firm, and we're looking for an Accounting Manager to lead a small, capable team and own the quality of our assurance and client accounting work.
This is a hands-on leadership seat. You'll run engagements, review the team's work, stay close to clients, and help each person on your team grow.
It's one blended role, not two. You'll work across the assurance side and the client accounting side. You'll also lead how the accounting team uses AI. We're serious about this one. We want someone who already puts AI to work in real accounting tasks and can help the rest of the team get comfortable with it too.
What you'll do
- Lead audit, review, compilation, and preparation engagements from start to finish, to a professional, peer-reviewed standard.
- Review the team's workpapers before they reach a partner, and be their first stop for technical questions.
- Own the delivery and client relationships for your client accounting work, and hand clean, reconciled books to our tax team at year-end.
- Coach and develop a team of three to five, and hold everyone, yourself included, to a clear standard.
- Set the example for how we use AI, and put it to work taking repetitive tasks off the team's plate.
- Keep engagements on schedule and on budget.
What we're looking for
- An active Texas CPA and five years in public accounting.
- Demonstrated strength across both assurance and client accounting.
- Someone who already uses AI well in their work and can lead a team on it.
- A genuinely good teammate. How you work with people matters to us as much as what you know: humble, steady under pressure, and willing to do the hard things.
