While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. They will also need to move around inside the office occasionally to access filing cabinets, office machinery, medical supplies, etc. The employee must be capable of operating a computer and other productivity machinery. There may be occasions where the employee needs to climb up or down a ladder or equipment and position themselves to maintain files in file cabinets and necessary medical supplies. It is essential for the employee to communicate information and ideas clearly so that others can understand. They must also be able to provide accurate information in these situations. The employee should be able to observe details at close range and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds (individually) for various reasons. Additionally, the employee may need to work around or be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Job Functions
- Observe self-administration of medications for clients as scheduled.
- Assign and label medication boxes for each client who is prescribed medication.
- Log all medications according to CHLCC policy.
- Create a client profile that consists of the client’s personal information as directed.
- Create a State Sheet for each client on medications, as directed.
- Ensure clients have their medications refilled in a timely manner by working with local pharmacies.
- Perform a weekly count of all medication under their control and report and document errors to the Medical Liaison.
- Count schedule II through V controlled medications at the start, end of each shift, and document appropriately, according to CHLCC Policy.
- Ensure controlled medications are locked properly in the narcotics cabinet using a 2-lock system.
- Ensure clients who are exiting receive their medications according to CHLCC policy.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
- Assist clients as needed regarding insurance coverage for medications.
- Maintaining a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
- Provide quality service to clients as required by Cedar House Life Change Center, State, and County Requirements.
- Maintain timely and reliable attendance.
- Perform life-saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees.
- And other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Experience
- Ability to maintain an accurate filing system.
- Previous experience with medications (preferred)
- Completed twelve years of education or have a GED.
- Complete continuing education and trainings as required by Cedar House, County, and State mandates.
- Maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Understanding of the nature of chemical dependency.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills maintaining productive working relationships with staff.
- An understanding of government contracts and agencies.
- Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
