Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Worker to carry out the general maintenance and upkeep of our hotel. This hands-on role requires someone who takes pride in their work, maintains a clean and safe environment, and contributes positively to the guest experience by ensuring the property is always in optimal condition.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the hotel's facilities and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections and routine preventative maintenance on guest rooms, public spaces, equipment, and hotel systems.
- Troubleshoot and complete repairs in areas including:
- Basic electrical (outlets, fixtures, breakers)
- Plumbing (toilets, sinks, leaks)
- HVAC (basic diagnostics and filter changes)
- Drywall/painting (patching, touch-ups)
- Landscaping (mowing, trimming, seasonal cleanup)
- Pool maintenance (chemical levels, cleaning, equipment upkeep)
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, mechanical rooms, and supply/storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and fire codes/regulations.
- Coordinate and oversee work completed by external vendors or contractors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, supply inventories, and repair records.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest-related maintenance issues to support a positive guest experience.
- Be available on-call for after-hours emergencies (such as plumbing leaks, electrical outages, etc.).
- Assist with snow removal or weather-related property prep when needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Strong working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, landscaping, pool systems, and drywall/painting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills – able to prioritize tasks independently.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills – able to clearly and professionally communicate with guests, staff, vendors, and management.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must have a flexible, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to "jump in" wherever needed.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification(s) a plus.
- Ability to use basic tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a hotel or facility maintenance technician.
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) or maintenance ticket software.
- Pool operator certification (CPO) is a plus.
- OSHA or other safety training certification(s) is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced hospitality environment.
- May occasionally require work during evenings, weekends, or holidays in case of emergencies.
- Role requires regular movement, standing for extended periods, and manual labor.
