What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Analyst position at Mosaic Diagnostics?
SUMMARY: The overall objectives of the Business Analyst are to review and analyze current and proposed business operations that result in new IT applications or modifications to existing applications. The BA will work with business leaders to gather business requirements, define system design specifications, author and execute test cases during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and will document the outcomes of these test cases until all have been successfully executed and documented in our SDLC system of record. They will also serve as a project manager to help lead projects from the business requirements aspect and testing of all IT projects. Will also facilitate the prioritization of our larger IT initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.
- Identify and communicate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Gather, review and analyze and industry data, including key performance metrics.
- Liaise between various business departments and groups.
- Assess options for process improvement, including business process modeling.
- Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes, UATs and operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create business requirements and project plan where appropriate.
- Shadows business SMEs to determine current processes in order to make certain that nothing is missed when designing and testing new code and automation configurations. Any questions will be delivered to the Business Contact and added to the project plan.
- Writes up the project's plan as a series of development steps. Reviews these steps with the IT Director to determine an estimated number of days to complete the project.
- Works across business functions to create priorities across all IT projects.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
