MRI Tech Aide – Patient Safety, Imaging Support

To support our growing MRI department, we are seeking a dedicated MRI Tech Aide & Front Desk Assistance to assist in streamlining workflow, ensuring MRI safety protocols, and enhancing the overall patient experience.

Position Summary

The MRI Tech Aide & Front Desk is responsible for preparing patients for MRI procedures, ensuring strict safety protocol compliance, and supporting the MRI Technologist to maintain efficient scan throughput. In addition, this role includes basic front desk duties to support office flow and ensure a smooth patient experience from arrival to discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and confirm their identity on arrival
• Review intake forms for completion and accuracy
• Answer phones and assist with basic patient inquiries
• Notify techs of patient arrivals and update systems
• Assist in managing waiting room flow and patient paperwork
• Escort patients to changing rooms and provide gowns
• Conduct MRI safety screenings and complete pre-exam checklists
• Ensure removal of all contraindicated items before entering the MRI suite
• Assist with patient transfers to and from the MRI table when necessary
• Prepare, sanitize, and restock the MRI suite between patients
• Communicate patient readiness to technologists to maintain scheduling flow
• Uphold MRI safety zone rules and infection control protocols
• Report any safety issues, patient concerns, or workflow disruptions promptly

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Monday, Tuesday, and Friday
• Weekends as needed
• Chinese (preferred)
• Spanish (preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Prior experience in a healthcare, radiology, or MRI setting
• Successful completion of an MRI Tech Aide or MRI Safety Training Program
• Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative clinical team
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist patients throughout a shift
• Associate's degree
