What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trading and Portfolio Management position at Morton Wealth?
Morton Wealth is currently looking to add new talent to our growing team. We are a registered investment advisor that was formed in 1981 and manages roughly $3 billion in assets across 1,200 families. We manage wealth personally with the goal of empowering better investors and encouraging families to enjoy their lives. Our investment approach is distinctly not “Wall Street” as we are willing to look beyond traditional investments if we feel that alternative investments can more closely match our investment philosophy of risk management, true diversification and cash flow. In addition to our unique investment approach, we also offer comprehensive financial advice that aligns with traditional CFP® education as well as behavioral finance.
Role Overview
- :Execute and oversee trading and rebalancing activity — Place and monitor trades, set up and manage rebalancing software, and ensure portfolios remain aligned with models and cash targets
- .Play a key role in portfolio construction — Partner with advisors to customize client allocations, support recommendations across model portfolios and private alternatives, and apply a deep understanding of asset allocation and portfolio design
- .Own reconciliation and systems accuracy — Set up new securities and accounts, reconcile custodial and outside accounts, and ensure data integrity and accurate reporting across internal platforms
- .Support private investment performance review — Conduct quarterly performance analysis for private funds following valuation updates, and partner with Private Investments Operations to research, diagnose, and resolve performance discrepancies
- .Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Portfolio Management/Trading role and progress towards the CFA designation is strongly preferred
