Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, efficient, and MSHA-compliant mining operations that meet business objectives, with a strong focus on productivity and minimal downtime.
- Supervise and coordinate mining activities at the working face to ensure effective mining cycles and adherence to company safety standards.
- Lead, train, and develop employees through coaching, performance accountability, and discipline as needed, fostering a culture of safety, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, promote fair labor relations, and manage all Step I grievances.
- Enforce safety and health policies through training, audits, hazard correction, and ongoing education in MSHA requirements, accident prevention, and fire safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3 or more years/ underground mining experience OR Bachelor's degree AND 1 year underground mining experience
- Must be able to obtain State of Ohio Underground Foreman's Certification within one years' time and deemed a competent person by CFR30 57.2 within six months' time
- Knowledge of federal mining laws (MSHA) and mining methods
- Demonstrated leadership experience within the mining industry
