What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at Morton Comprehensive Health Services?
Schedule: Tuesday 8 hours Thursday 8 hours during business hours
Part Time: 16 hours per week
This person is responsible for handling front office reception duties for the laboratory department, performing venipunctures and finger sticks, processing medical laboratory tests, and documenting the results for diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease.
Qualifications for This Position Include:
- High School Diploma / GED required
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Registered/Certified Medical Assistant (R/CMA) or three or more years of directly related experience
- Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skill
- Demonstrated critical thinking skill
- Experience working with lab equipment
- Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of EMR systems
- A minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
