Role Description The Head of Human Resources is a full-time, on-site role based in Troy, MI. This role oversees all HR functions, including developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading HR staff, guiding recruitment and onboarding processes, managing performance review cycles, and supporting leadership in workforce planning and organizational development. The Head of Human Resources also handles conflict resolution, administers compensation and benefits programs in collaboration with leadership, and drives initiatives that support employee engagement, professional development, and a positive workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience leading HR teams or functions.
- Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, including regulatory compliance and risk mitigation in a financial services or similar environment.
- Ability to design, implement, and maintain HR Policies that support organizational goals and legal requirements.
- Proficiency in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution, performance management, and coaching for leaders and team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) are preferred.
- Experience in the mortgage, financial services, or regulated industries is an advantage.
