Role Description The Visionary Loan Originator is a full-time, remote role responsible for growing Mortgage Forward’s residential lending business across its multi-state footprint. This role sources, develops, and manages borrower relationships, from initial inquiry through closing, while maintaining a strong referral network with credit unions, real estate professionals, and other partners. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and responding to leads, conducting borrower consultations, collecting and analyzing financial documentation, and recommending appropriate mortgage products. The Visionary Loan Originator will collaborate with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure accurate, timely submissions and a smooth borrower experience. This role also involves staying current on lending guidelines, market trends, and regulatory requirements, and proactively identifying new opportunities to expand Mortgage Forward’s reach and impact.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Loan Origination and Loans, with a track record of guiding borrowers from application to closing in a compliant and efficient manner.
- Solid understanding of Mortgages and Finance, including conventional and government loan products, income analysis, and debt-to-income considerations.
- Working knowledge of Underwriting principles to structure files effectively and address conditions in collaboration with internal teams.
- Proven ability to build and maintain referral relationships with credit unions, real estate agents, and other partners in a multi-state environment.
- Active Mortgage Loan Originator license (NMLS) in at least one Mortgage Forward state, with the ability and willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.
- Excellent communication, consultative sales, and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex information in clear, accessible terms.
- Comfort with remote work, loan origination systems, CRM tools, and digital document platforms; strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Previous experience in a credit union, CUSO, or retail mortgage environment preferred; high ethical standards and commitment to regulatory compliance required.
