Summary
As our Market Intelligence Intern, you will support Mortenson’s strategic planning and business development efforts by conducting market and competitive research. You will help track industry trends, monitor economic indicators, and summarize insights that inform key decisions across the organization. Highlights of the internship include:
- Conduct market research on industry trends, economic indicators, and construction market dynamics
- Monitor competitor activity, including strategic moves, partnerships, and investments
- Summarize findings into executive-ready insights and visualizations
- Stay current on industry news, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research into business solutions.
Qualifications

- Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Business Administration, Economics, Market Intelligence, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Demonstrate strong initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Are comfortable working in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Have experience using AI-powered platforms to support research and streamline workflows
- Can synthesize information from multiple sources and present it clearly.
- Have proven positive and professional attitude
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively manage multiple tasks
- Have access to reliable transportation
Additional Information
You will join an exciting and ever-changing industry with a planned 12-week, in-person internship with our team. This opportunity is full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2026. The internship position is out of our Minneapolis headquarters office.
The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $18.00. Students in their sophomore year of college, or more, are paid higher wages based on their year in school.
