Join Our Team as a MAT Peer Specialist at Morse Correctional Healthcare in Crestview FL

Morse Correctional Healthcare is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated MAT Peer Specialist to join our team at the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections in Crestview. The MAT Peer Specialist will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals undergoing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with inmate patients in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner to build trust and rapport
• Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals in MAT programs
• Promote the value of self-help, peer support and personal empowerment to assist patients in setting and achieving recovery goals
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care for clients
• Assist in discharge planning and reentry efforts for a successful recovery.

Qualifications:

• Must have received services for a diagnosed substance abuse disorder AND successfully completed or is currently participating in recovery activities for a minimum of two years
• Completion of training program to become a Certified Peer Specialist
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• High School diploma or equivalent required
