Description
Responsible for maintaining an adequate level of nursing for the program’s dispensing and medical operations. Responsible for ensuring that medical services are in compliance with all federal and state regulations all under the supervision of the medical director by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans and organizes medical services to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with professional standards of medical and nursing care and hospital or center administrative procedures.*
- Supplies medications to patients per doctor's orders.*
- Intake of new patients- tb screening, blood pressure, pulse ox, respiratory rate, pulse
- Acts as a liaison for drug and equipment representatives and various state agencies as needed.*
- Ensures that medical services are in compliance with all federal and state regulations.*
- Prepares and administers medication to clients maintaining medication inventory records and logs in compliance with federal and state regulations.*
- Provides physical addictions-related consultations to clients on an as-needed basis recording such consultations in the client’s record.*
- Participates in professional development activities to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and skills relevant to MORSE CLINICS duties.*
- Consults with the medical director or nurse practitioner for guidance in medical matters concerning the well-being of clients.*
- Provides random, supervised urine specimens for drug screen testing at the request of the program director or medical provider as needed.*
- Pregnancy tests- Reads and documents.
- Mouth Swabs- reads and documents.
- Responsible for medical orders being followed and carried out.*
- Inventories medication stock.*
- Orders medication as directed by the medical director.*
- Maintains adequate security over medication stock.*
- Maintains medication inventory records and logs in compliance with federal and state regulations and the program protocol.*
- Maintains an adequate stock of all medical supplies.*
- Receives medication shipments.*
- Maintains client medical records.*
- Prints and files client dosing reports and inventory reports.*
- Observes and appropriately records and reports changes in a client’s condition providing physical additions-related consultations to clients on an as-needed basis recording such consultations in the client’s record.*
- Coordinating and cooperating with local agencies and organizations necessary to expedite treatment for each patient;
- Coordination medical treatment by providing information to clients about other services, such as hospitals and inpatient treatment facilities;
- Attends administrative, staff, and clinical treatment meetings.*
- Schedules program physicians for intakes and schedules client consultations with a program physician or the medical director.*
- Administers the exposure control plan.*
- Maintains license to practice nursing in the state of North Carolina.*
- Responsible for being evaluated by subjective and objective methods.*
- Works as a member of a team and participates in team meetings.*
- Administers Methadone accurately and efficiently.*
- Maintains accurate medication records including daily, monthly, and biennial medication logs.*
- Communicates verbally or otherwise client medication needs and progress to the medical director.*
- Completes initial assessment forms accurately and assembles and maintains the client medical record.*
- NCPMP at minimum quarterly
- Maintains accurate inventory including DEA 222 form maintenance.*
- Documents accurately.*
- Responsible for attendance and punctuality at work.*
- Responsible for a professional demeanor.*
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, NC Controlled Substance Reporting System, and Methasoft software.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. OR
Masters in nursing/Registered nursing degree; and one year related experience and/or Training.
Certificates and Licenses:
CPR/FIRST AID required

Salary
