Position Summary: The County Surveyor, under the limited supervision of the County Administrator, is responsible for performing the professional land surveying duties related to the office of the County Surveyor, see ORS 204.005 (2). The County Surveyor must possess intellectual, technical, and functional expertise in land surveying to perform a full range of complex duties without instruction or assistance. Ensures that County and other survey work done by Land Surveyors conforms to survey map standards, Oregon Revised Statures, and Oregon Administrative Rules.
Qualifications:
Education: Must be a graduate of a 4-year program in land surveying or civil engineering.
Experience: Must have 4 years of professional land surveying experience specifically dealing with the interpretation of complex and inter-related deeds, historic boundary determinations, and restoration of public land corners; beyond the 4 years of professional-level work experience required to become a licensed land surveyor in Oregon.
Must be a registered professional land surveyor in the State of Oregon, per ORS 209.115.
