Our Veterinary Receptionists are the ambassadors of the practice – the first and last impression our clients receive. Job responsibilities include checking in/out clients, answering phones, booking appointments, collection of fees, problem solving, maintenance of electronic medical records, refill of medications and food, and following doctor's verbal and written instructions.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years experience working a frontline client service role in a veterinary or healthcare setting or working with clients in a general office environment. Frontline client service experience at a veterinary practice working with IDEXX Cornerstone software is a definite plus!!
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, personal computer and problem solving skills
- The ability to work in a fast paced, detail oriented, multi-tasking, team oriented environment.
- A love of working with clients and their pets and providing them "service with a smile", in person and over the telephone
- Proven ability in successfully handling clients who can be emotional and/or difficult, in person and over the telephone
This position requires:
- Being able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize software packages and computer systems.
- Lifting and carrying a minimum of 35 lbs.
- Handling telephone calls for extended periods of time.
- Being able to tolerate the sounds and smells of animals.
- Working evenings and weekends.
- Reliablity is a must!
