Bus Aide
Bus Aides work under the direction and supervision of the Bus Driver, Transportation Director and Principal. Experience working with children and adults is preferred.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Assists the bus driver in maintaining proper school conduct on the bus.
- Assists disabled students in getting on and off the bus and maintaining a safe environment while on the bus.
- Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly manner.
- Places students in wheelchairs safely on and off the wheelchair lift.
- Operates and checks the wheelchair lift daily.
- Locks wheelchairs in place securely and fastens seat belts around students.
Pay rate is recommended by the Superintendent and presented to the Board of School Trustees effective July 1.
