Morrissey Inc., an employee-owned corporation founded in 1946, specializing in complex precision custom metal stamping, machining , and assemblies for the Military, Medical, Automotive, and Aerospace Industries. We have various different pieces of equipment that range from Punch Presses, Welding Equipment, CNC Machinery, and Laser Equipment. We are currently looking for a CNC Laser Setup Operator for our Bloomington, Minnesota facility. This Laser is a Super Turbo X 48-MK-II, made in 2003. This is an old laser with a Mazatrol L32B control. We are looking for an individual who has experience performing setups with this style of control.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM.
Pay range: $28-$33/ per hour (depending on experience)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for operating a Mazak 4000 Watt CO2 CNC Laser. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Selecting proper cutting programs and proper fixtures.
- Loading cutting program into machine.
- Loading sheet material onto laser bed.
- Running setup parts, evaluating cut parameters, making adjustments to improve quality and develop a part that meets print requirements.
- Establishing proper stop location; adjusting laser beam focal point.
- Operating forklift for moving raw materials (sheet stock).
- Performing all dimensional inspections.
- Detecting and reporting defective materials to Lead and/or Quality department.
- Maintaining the work area and equipment and following prescribed safety policies.
- Wearing protective attire, such as safety eye glasses, steel-toed shoes and gloves.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience with 3 Axis Mazak Laser required.
- Must be able to perform simple/basic math.
- Must be able to read and interpret blue prints.
- Ability to use basic hand-held measuring tools and height gauges.
- Must be able to meet physical demands of the job with or without accommodation.
- Must be able to adjust to varying climates (hot / cold)
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience using sit-down forklift preferred.
