Site-Development Engineer | Support design and grow toward Engineer of Record across complex hydraulic and hydrologic projects.
THE ROLE
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the engineering design and construction oversight of site-specific infrastructure projects such as residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use developments. It will be the primary responsibility to take the overall site development plan and translate it into detailed engineering drawings needed for construction. THE ROLE
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the engineering design and construction oversight of site-specific infrastructure projects such as residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed-use developments. It will be the primary responsibility to take the overall site development plan and translate it into detailed engineering drawings needed for construction. During the construction phase, the engineer will provide oversight and support the implementation of the plans. These responsibilities include:
- Work with the client and project team to interpret the overall site development plan and translate it into detailed engineering drawings.
- Lead project tasks and/or project phases.
- Become the technical lead and engineer of record for larger project areas.
- Manage project tasks including technical report writing and coordination with multidisciplinary team, architects, and clients.
- Guide Design Engineers and entry level engineers on project designs, drafting plans, drawings, and modeling according to project specifications.
- Assess the suitability of the site for development.
- Design and plan necessary infrastructure such as roads, utilities, drainage systems, and grading.
- Navigate regulatory requirements and obtain necessary permitting to meet project requirements.
- Oversee the development engineering design process from conception to completion.
- Develop cost estimates and prepare and manage budgets.
- Provide construction administration services during the construction phase of the project.
- Works with the Project Manager and Operations Manager to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

- $80,000-$115,000 base pay (DOE) with generous wage growth

YOUR STRENGTHS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
- 3 years of demonstrated experience with site development engineering project design work. Site-civil engineering design experience for architectural clients is preferred.
- Demonstrated growth in technical responsibility with increasing ownership of design tasks and project deliverables
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or on track to obtain PE
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering design software as it pertains to roadway, utilities, and grading design
- Effective communicator both written and verbal
- Valid driver’s license and insurable record for travel
