Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our 2026 Extended School Year Program. This vital role involves providing comprehensive health services to students, ensuring their safety, and supporting their well-being during the summer session.
Duties
- Conduct thorough student health assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations to determine health needs.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, utilizing emergency medicine skills and trauma center experience when needed.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of student health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate entry into EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
- Provide first aid and basic life support during incidents, utilizing CPR and venipuncture skills when necessary.
- Document all patient care activities meticulously, ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- New Jersey Department of Education School Nurse Certification.
- Current New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs Nursing License.
