DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Surgical Tech is responsible for the care and use of instruments in the operating room working under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, certified surgical technologist, and/or surgeon. On call rotation with 60 minute response time required.

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Professional/Educational-
Completion of a Surgical Technician or Surgical Technology training program.

Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Basic computer skills.

Knowledge of principles of asepsis.

DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.

Personal-
Evidence of good health, grooming and professional conduct.

Desire and ability to cooperate with and/or under the direction of others.

Possesses a sense of responsibility, initiative and honesty.

Ability to follow directions accurately.

Willingness to participate in call schedule and work irregular hours as necessary.
