We are looking for a skilled and organized medical assistant/ phlebotomist to join our small office. The practice has a solo practitioner in a concierge internal medicine practice. We are a small cohesive office and like our fun, upbeat atmosphere. You will be working both the front and back office, performing a combination of various administrative and clinical tasks. You MUST have great phlebotomy skills and great customer service skills. Administrative responsibilities include greeting patients as they arrive, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, updating patients’ medical records, and assisting in medical billing. Clinical responsibilities include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during examinations.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Excellent phlebotomy skills are REQUIRED and essential for this position. Do not apply if you do not possess this skill.
Excellent customer service skills are required and essential. Carries out other duties as assigned and supports the practice’s Mission, Vision and Values Statement.
Answer phone calls, greet patients, and call with appointment reminders.
Place patients in exam rooms, obtain brief history and vital signs, and document in the medical records.
Assist in the examination and procedures for patients with provider.
Provide treatments as ordered such as immunizations, and injections.
Perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture, electrocardiogram, audiogram, spirometry, and treadmill.
Keep patient exam rooms stocked with supplies and organized.
Import information into electronic medical record. Maintain security patients' health information according to HIPAA standards.
Ensure that all medications and vaccines are stored properly and that expiring meds and supplies are replaced before they expire.
Order medical supplies as determined by inventory needs.
Assist our billing service with questions as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Medical Assistant certification required
- Covid Vaccine required
- High level of professionalism
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledgeable of and maintains HIPAA standards of privacy and confidentiality
- Skilled in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to be trained in our electronic medical record, office equipment
Paid time off: 10 days accrued year 1, then 15 days after year 2
Eligible for 401k and profit sharing after one year of employment

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
