Role Description
Morris Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Varsity Cross Country Coach for a part-time, on-site position located at our campus in Denville, NJ. The coach will be responsible for planning and leading practice sessions, developing training plans to optimize team and individual performance, coordinating competition schedules, and providing mentorship to student-athletes. Additionally, the role includes promoting sportsmanship, fostering team cohesion, ensuring safety protocols, and collaborating with school administrators, staff, and parents to support the athletic and personal growth of team members.
Qualifications
- Experience in coaching Cross Country or other track and field sports, with a strong understanding of training techniques
- Knowledge of team management, leadership, and creating a positive team culture
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members
- First aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification prior to start
- Experience developing athletic training programs and managing competition strategies
- Passion for mentoring and fostering the personal and athletic growth of high school students
- Previous experience in coaching at the high school level is preferred
- Knowledge of diocesan guidelines or background in Catholic education is a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Flexible schedule to meet demands of practices, meets, and events
