Job Description:
Responsible for wiring control panels and machines. Assisting in the electrical parts inventory, storing and issuance to jobs. Also responsible for electrical repairs or upkeep to company tools, equipment and building as needed. Must acquire familiarity with the various parts and supplies and the clerical work associated with electrical parts storekeeping.
Tasks:
- Assemble and test Industrial Control Panels from schematic wiring diagrams, load software programs and test PLC's and HMI's
- Experience with 3 phase AC wiring up to 600V, AC single phase wiring, DC low voltage analog & digital wiring and network wiring
- Develop and manufacture wiring harnesses for standard control panels
- Develop and manufacture unit level wiring kits to reduce elapsed time and improve efficiency in production process
- Ability to read, interpret and understand schematic wiring diagrams & drawings
- Work from schematic wiring diagrams, equipment drawings and specifications of installation, for service and checking of electrical wiring systems and various electrical equipment
- Ability to install wiring along with rigid ad flexible conduit with quality workmanship and attention to detail
- Troubleshoot and diagnose make malfunctions in equipment and control panels
- Electrical parts storekeeping, maintains neat and clean storage locations and work areas
- Position is part of the electrical department. Control panel assembly is primarily performed in the electrical department. Wiring of unit level equipment is primarily performed in the electrical department. Wiring of unit level equipment is primarily performed in the manufacturing areas and at times outside
- In the course of performing the duties of this position, the incumbent has regular contact with engineering and management personnel regarding the status of design of projects or jobs. Review and update wiring diagrams as needed. Also, the incumbent has contact with parts delivery personnel regarding delivery and shipment of electrical components. The incumbent maintains electrical inventory. The incumbent received work instruction from the electrical department lead and schedule prioritization from production manager
- May perform other duties as assigned
Education:
- Typically requires associate degree in electronics or electric technology
Experience:
- Preferred - 2 years experience in electronic/electrical circuitry and assembly of control panels
- Preferred - 3 to 5 years experience electrical wiring systems and programming various type of controllers
Equipment Operation:
- Computer, forklifts, scales, hand trucks, dollies and other equipment used in manufacturing activities
Working Conditions:
- Normally indoors in a manufacturing environment which can be noisy. It may be necessary to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions for wiring equipment when needed
- Safety shoes and safety glasses are required. Other personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
- Required to lift objects manually or by forklift. Also required to bend, stoop, climb ladders and pull wires. In exercising some functions, may by required to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs from the floor to shelves and from the shelves to floor
- Must be able to climb stairs and to climb on and off a forklift as needed
- The electrical technician must be very accurate and have keen attention to detail

- Full Time – 40 Hours/Week
