The Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research (WSER), is a division within Client that plays a vital role in supporting economic and workforce development across the state. The mission of WSER is to produce, analyze, and deliver economic data to improve decision-making.
Contractor will assist WSER by providing the expertise necessary through IT Staff Augmentation Services for one Decision Support Administrator Advanced, in accordance with the tasks outlined below.
Minimally Required Deliverables/Tasks
General Characteristics
- Supports the user community in the use of business intelligence tools to query files and databases for report outputs.
- Assists customers in use of OLAP tools, extracts and collects data for performing queries and writing reports.
- Reviews queries for performance issues, making changes as needed.
- Participates in the design and development of reports, as well as creation of user documentation.
- Monitors customer usage, upgrades enterprise-wide OLAP query and reporting tools, monitors batch queries and ensures interoperability and security of various front-end components.
- Maintains meta data coordination and supports production system.
- Needed knowledge includes process and data modeling and data architectural development methodologies.
Complexity
- Provides support for user community. Works on one or more projects as a project team member.
- Functions, relatively independent, under direction of senior professionals, supervisors, or managers.
- The Contractor shall be responsible for performing data preparation activities, including cleaning and preprocessing, to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all datasets.
- The Contractor shall apply appropriate statistical techniques to analyze trends, patterns, and relationships, and shall conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights.
- All analytical results shall be interpreted within the context of Client objectives to ensure relevance and support informed decision-making.
- The Contractor shall develop and execute SQL queries to extract and manipulate data as required.
- Queries shall be optimized for efficiency and performance while maintaining strict data integrity standards.
- The Contractor shall ensure that all activities support accurate, timely, and actionable analysis aligned with FloridaCommerce s operational and strategic needs.
Qualifications and Performance Criteria
- Associate s or Bachelor s Degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or;
- Equivalent work experience (A minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience, five (5) years of experience in business intelligence tools and systems, and five (5) years of experience with economic and/or statistical analysis).
