Assistant Director of Nursing

Morningstar is a local, family-owned senior living company dedicated to providing exceptional care in a warm, home-like environment. We are looking for a dependable and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team and help lead our nursing department.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career and play an important role in supporting both our residents and nursing team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing with the overall leadership and management of the nursing department
- Help ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to nursing staff
- Assist with staff training, education, and development
- Monitor resident care, documentation, medications, and care plans
- Assist with assessments and changes in resident condition
- Help ensure compliance with Kansas assisted living regulations
- Utilize PointClickCare for documentation, care planning, resident records, and other clinical needs
- Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Help address resident and family concerns in a professional and compassionate manner
- Assist with audits, surveys, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
- Step in and provide hands-on nursing support when needed
- Work closely with the Director of Nursing and Executive Director to maintain a strong, positive nursing department
Qualifications
- Active Kansas LPN License
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Knowledge of Kansas assisted living regulations
- Working knowledge and experience with PointClickCare
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A dependable team player with strong leadership abilities
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and dedicated to serving seniors
- Willingness to lead by example and support your team
