About the Cook Supervisor Role
The Main Kitchen Cook Supervisor must be attentive to the overall operation of the Main Kitchen. This includes correct food production techniques, adherence to established recipes, food presentation and quality. Completion of appropriate HACCP documentation is required for food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures as well as completion of cleaning checklists. The Main Kitchen Cook Supervisor is a hands-on worker, preparing and serving food to residents in the Health and Wellness Center. They are responsible for the safety, sanitation and equipment maintenance of the Main Kitchen during their shift. The Main Kitchen Cook Supervisor supervises all Prep Cooks and Utility personnel.
What will I do as a Cook Supervisor?
- Prepares quality food and serves residents in a safe and courteous manner.
- Responsible for the quality and quantity of food prepared and served.
- Supervise, train, and support team members by overseeing onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary processes, and adherence to service and uniform standards.
- Conduct daily culinary services meetings with main kitchen culinary staff, HC and PC supervisors.
What do I need to be the Cook Supervisor?
- Minimum of five (5) years of cooking experience, preferably in batch cooking
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred
- Dependable, consistent, and team-oriented
- Ability to interact positively with residents and coworkers
- Must possess self-direction in management of time, work & related activities
- Must be able to enforce policy and procedures
