CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA)-Full time

We are seeking a positive, compassionate, customer service-focused team member for the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant position.  Essential Job Functions: 

1. Administer occupational therapy under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapists where therapy services are being provided as follows:
   1. Complete screening as applicable per State Practice Act according to your scope of practice.
   2. Obtain informed consent from the resident and/or POA as applicable.
   3. Perform occupational therapy treatment following the resident’s established plan of care which includes short and long-term goals, resident goals, and discharge planning.
   4. Complete accurate and appropriate daily billing in Optima HCS or applicable system for residents on caseload.
   5. Document resident progress in daily treatment encounter notes, weekly progress reports, recertification documentation, and discharge summaries in Optima HCS or applicable system for each resident in which you provide therapy services.
   6. Provide ongoing treatment to residents using the most current techniques following appropriate physician orders, AOTA guidelines, and the state practice act’s code of conduct/standards.
   7. Follow established procedures for use of physical agent modalities.
   8. Participate in discharge planning of residents on caseload and provide rehab discharge programs as applicable.
   9. Participate in facility care plan meetings, weekly rehab team meeting, company webinars, and interdisciplinary team trainings/conferences.
   10. Adhere to HIPAA regulations.
   11. Adhere to the weekly productivity standard of a minimum of 88%.
   12. Adhere to other delegated tasks on the Evaluating Therapist Task List.

Qualifications: 

1. Education: Requires a graduate an accredited school of occupational therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
2. Certifications/Licenses: Current Texas State License as an Occupational Therapist Assistant. Current Driver’s Current BLS.
3. Training and Experience: Therapy Assistant must demonstrate and exercise the knowledge and skills necessary to provide quality care appropriate to the age of the residents served. COTA shall be professional, ethical, efficient, dependable, and demonstrate proficient computer skills.
4. Employment Variables: Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance to travel between facilities when required.
