General Summary:
Provides a clean, safe and pleasant environment for all residents, employees, visitors and provides maintenance assistance.
Essential Duties:
- Performs routine daily cleaning tasks as assigned by the supervisor, including but not limited to resident rooms, hallways and other public access areas, activity and day rooms, staff areas and utility rooms.
- As directed, assists Director of Plant operations with maintenance repair to include, but not limited to, mechanical equipment, painting, etc.
- Maintains a safe environment for all residents, staff and visitors by following all safety policies of the facility, performing all duties in the proper and safe way with concern for the safety of residents, visitors and staff, and recommending any additional safety policies and procedures to the director.
- Performs major cleaning tasks, as applicable, such as: stripping and re-waxing floors; shampooing carpets; washing walls; cleaning and disinfecting all furniture and equipment; cleaning all windows.
- Maintains equipment in good working condition through proper and routine preventive maintenance, and receives and uses supplies in a proper manner. Reports any equipment problems or safety issues to director immediately.
- Maintains effective infection control through proper cleaning and sanitizing and adherence to the infection control policies established by company and OSHA, MOSHA regulations.

- Cross-trains and covers laundry area when requested.
- Attends in-service training classes as required.
- Assists with preventive maintenance schedule as directed by director.

- Perform spot checks on apartments and common areas and reports to Director.

Skills and experience:
- Customer service/maintenance skills within an assisted living environment or similar
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- AA, mechanical college or college degree desired
- HVAC certification desired
