Job Title: Director of Sales and Marketing

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Executive Director

Position Summary: In accordance with established company policies and procedures, responsibilities include all aspects of marketing to include: development and implementation of the marketing plan, public relations, networking / referral development, speakers bureau, advertising campaign.

Essential Functions, Experience and Skills:

  • Responsible for the overall marketing activities, and supervision of marketing department.
  • Supervises marketing counselors, concierge, and driver staff to include, but not limited to, performance evaluations, disciplinary issues, coaching, counseling and training.
  • Practices sound employment practices by adhering to all Morningside Policies and Procedures and Standards; local, federal and state regulations and employment laws
  • Must perform all duties in adherence of established policies and procedures
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and follow-through, communication and teamwork, safety practices, attendance and punctuality, adherence to company standards and strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Responsible for ensuring and maintaining concierge and driver coverage.
  • Directly responsible for networking within the community developing and maintaining referral contacts.
  • Initiates and coordinates special events for marketing purposes, working collaboratively with other departments to implement events.
  • Directly responsible for public relations to include: participation in community organizations, seeking and providing speaking engagements, interacting with volunteers and families, inquiries, etc.
  • Attends educational seminars as needed or appropriate to include, but not limited to, corporate marketing meetings, networking functions, home visits, other health care providing facilities.
  • Responsible for implementation and management of company policy and standards.
  • Coordinates tours for potential residents, families or others ensuring that individuals are treated courteously and receive positive customer service.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of an aggressive, detailed strategic marketing and networking plan in conjunction and with the approval of Corporate.
  • Oversee the move-in procedure for new residents to include: scheduling, initial paperwork, financial arrangements, and orientation of residents.
  • Monitors and/or coordinates mass mailings in coordination with corporate.
  • Prepares marketing reports, compiles statistics, maintains computerized lead base.
  • Must be accessible to marketing team and Morningside management through use of cell phone (provided).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of three (3) years marketing, promotional or event planning experience.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Time Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in an efficient manner.
  • Must be 18 years of age or over.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to speak and write effectively in English
  • Commitment and adherence to company values and policies.
  • Must be a strong team player.
  • Must adhere to confidentiality procedures to insure HIPAA and Morningside House standards are met or exceeded at all times.
  • Requires effective interpersonal skills exhibiting a gracious pleasant out-going and caring attitude, the ability to interact positively with a professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Ability to be flexible; functions independently and works under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, problem solving, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • This position must exhibit maturity in judgment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years marketing, promotional or event planning experience.


Nonessential Skills and experience:

  • Previous supervisory marketing experience within an assisted living environment
  • AA or college degree desired
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience and exposure in caring for geriatric population.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience in a professional work environment preferred.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; squat, bend, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to frequent contact with residents, family members, staff and vendors in a mostly indoor setting in an assisted living support environment. This position requires exposure to outdoor elements occasionally and requires travel to other environments. The noise level in the work environment is normally minimal to moderate.

Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
