Coffee Shop Barista

Now Hiring: Year Round Part-Time Barista Team Member (Not a Seasonal Position and MUST HAVE HOUSING)

Busy beachside coffee shop located in Nags Head, NC is looking for a dependable, year-round full time/part-time team member. This is not a seasonal role — our seasonal staffing is already complete. We operate daily and are looking for someone who can commit to a long-term part-time schedule.

What we’re looking for:

• Availability for morning and/or afternoon shifts
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays
• Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality

Compensation:
This position pays hourly PLUS TIPS! Tips are distributed after training is completed and typically range from $10 to $15 per hour, in addition to base pay.

Position Summary:

As a Barista at Morning View Coffee House, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of coffee, teas and specialty beverages, while providing exceptional customer service to our guests. In addition, this role will also assist in restocking inventory, cash handling and ensure the environment remains inviting, clean and well-organized. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about coffee and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers!

Primary Job Duties

· Welcome and greet guest warmly, take beverage orders accurately and provide recommendations based on their preferences

· Prepare a variety of coffee, espresso drinks, teas and specialty beverages following recipes with precision

· Operate espresso machines and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including the service area and seating areas

· Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately

· Assist in restocking inventory and monitoring supplies to ensure availability

· Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organizational standards and sanitation regulations

· Other duties as assigned by management

Experience & Skills:

• Prior barista experience is a plus, but not mandatory — we’re happy to train the right person on how to prepare our coffee and specialty drinks.
• You’ll rotate between operating the espresso machine and working the register, so great customer service skills are essential.
• Must be confident communicating with customers and able to deliver warm, friendly, and attentive service at a fast pace.
• Interest in coffee and café culture is a bonus — you’ll need to become familiar with our menu of beverages, food, and retail items.
